Stressed asset and special situations advisory
Oogway Ventures helps investors and promoters with stressed and distressed assets in India. We source and evaluate NPA-backed and stressed businesses, structure their acquisition, arrange special-situation and turnaround financing, and advise on restructuring and IBC resolution routes. Common questions
Special situations & distressed assets: questions promoters ask
What is a special situation fund?
A special situation fund is a type of Category I Alternative Investment Fund under SEBI's AIF regulations that invests in stressed assets. Aman Lohiya, who leads this practice, managed one before founding Oogway.
How do you evaluate a stressed asset?
We look at why the business is stressed, what it would take to revive it, the real cost of the risk, the claims on the asset and the capital the turnaround needs. That tells an investor what the asset is worth and how to structure the acquisition.
Do you work on NPA and IBC situations?
Yes. We work on NPA-backed assets, one-time settlements, restructuring and IBC-linked opportunities, for both investors and promoters.
Can you finance a business in transition?
Yes. Special situations financing provides bespoke capital for complex or transitional situations, such as a promoter transition or a balance-sheet restructuring.
